STUDENTS SUPPORTED BY PEOPLE OF ST JOHN CHURCH in DARIEN, CT

Members, and some former members, of St John Church are currently sponsoring 50 children and youth in the St John Bosco Education Program. The average cost per student for school fees and their personal needs is $700 per student per year.

Most of young people in the Bosco program are from the pastoralist tribe called Turkana. Their parents, and more likely grandparents, came to Kitale from the Lodwar area, years ago, because it is too hot and dry up there near Lake Turkana for anything to grow.

Kitale, where the St John Bosco Centre is located, is quite close to the Uganda border and south of Lake Turkana.
